Who are acevo?

acevo is the Association of Chief Executives of Voluntary Organisations. acevo works to connect, develop and represent the third sector's leaders, with a view to increasing the sector's impact and efficiency.

How has acevo used ICT?

acevo wanted to develop a new way for our Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to communicate with members.  They developed a blog for their CEO to use to air his views. He currently writes a column in a magazine but this was due to end, so it was a good time to find another channel. The Media Trust "Managing Web 2.0" seminar helped acevo formulate the idea and look out for certain things. The blog is hosted on the acevo website, which is currently under development and due to be launched shortly.

What difference has ICT made?

It has provided acevo with an understanding of what blogs can do and how to go about setting one up. It has provided their members with an interactive forum, so they can engage with the CEO. As a membership body, interaction with members is very important.

What was learnt?

This project is very new so acevo are looking forward to seeing how it works and if there are any learning points.  We will keep you informed of their progress.
