How we can help you

Is your voluntary or community organisation doing the most it can with what it's got?

Do you think you could be spending too much time doing things manually such as producing reports, compiling financial information or sending out newsletters?

Well planned, used and maintained ICT (information and communication technology) could help you do all of these things more effectively and efficiently, allowing you to do more with your time and money.

Embracing the benefits of technology won't just help your internal processes but will ensure you are keeping up to date with important policy and funding news.

It's not always easy to see how your organisation might benefit from ICT so why not talk to NCVO to see how we can help you:

  • Signpost you to existing free or low cost publications and guidance
  • Share with you how other organisations are benefitting from ICT
  • Run a workshop for you and your colleagues looking at how you might use ICT
  • Work with you on a one-to-one basis to develop a more structured ICT plan

The ICT Hub

The work of the team builds on the legacy of work achieved by NCVO as accountable body of the ICT Hub.

The ICT Hub was a partnership of organisations that came together to provide a range of good practice resources and guidance to help the voluntary and community sector benefit from ICT.  The project was funded under the Home Office’s ChangeUp programme from 2005 - 2008.

The core partners in the ICT Hub partnership were:

  • NCVO - accountable body
National Council for Voluntary Organisations - giving voice and support to the voluntary and community sector.
  • NAVCA
National Association for Voluntary and Community Action - national voice for third sector infrastructure organisations.
  • Lasa
London Advice Services Alliance - an expert resource for advisers.
  • AbilityNet
Helping disabled adults and children use computers and the internet by adapting and adjusting their technology.
  • iT4Communities
Introducing ICT professionals wanting to volunteer their skills to charities and voluntary organisations needing ICT help.
